The heart of our school:
Meet Ms. Alex
At The Garden, School for Early Learners, our foundation is built on the passion, dedication, and vision of Ms. Alex Stein, the owner, creator, and lead educator. With over 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, she has dedicated her career to creating warm, inclusive learning environments where children feel safe, valued, and inspired.
Ms. Alex’s journey began in Sarasota, Florida, where she helped care for her younger sister, 10 years her junior. This experience sparked her passion for working with children and led to volunteering at her sister’s preschool. By 16, she was working in early education, setting the foundation for her lifelong commitment to child development.
She pursued Early Childhood Education coursework at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, gaining hands-on experience in classrooms, summer camps, and after-school programs.
After moving to Colorado in 2012, she worked as a private nanny, deepening her understanding of individualized, home-based care. She later returned to early learning centers as a lead teacher and then as a center director, where she gained leadership experience in curriculum development, educator support, and program management.
In 2020, she founded Ms. Alex, LLC, offering private childcare services such as nanny care, overnight childcare, potty training, and child space organization. This allowed her to combine structured early education with personalized family support, reinforcing her belief in child-led, play-based learning.
In 2022, Ms. Alex founded The Garden, School for Early Learners, with the vision of creating a progressive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, and grow.
Ms. Alex has pursued a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Colorado Denver, with significant coursework in Sociology and Early Childhood Education. She also holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and a Large Center Director Qualification. As a certified advocate for Justice, Allyship, Diversity, and Equity (JADE), she is committed to inclusive, culturally responsive education.
