Our Story: The Roots of the Garden
π± Our Roots
The Garden blossomed from the vision of Ms. Alex Stein, an early childhood educator with nearly 20 years of experience in diverse early learning settings. Passionate about child-led, play-based learning, she imagined a space where children's natural curiosity would shape their education, where play was the foundation of discovery, and where families felt deeply connected to the journey.
That vision took root in a bright and welcoming garden-level walkout basement, thoughtfully designed to feel like an extension of home. Bathed in natural light and surrounded by Ms. Alex's love for plants and flowers, the space invites children to explore, create, and grow in a nurturing environment that feels warm and familiar.
Though The Garden remains a home-based program, our dream extends beyond these walls. We hope to expand our reach to more families while preserving the connection and individualized attention that makes our program special.
π± The Meaning Behind Our Name
A garden is a place of growth, beauty, and careβlike childhood! Our name reflects our physical beginnings in a garden-level space and Ms. Alex's love of plants and flowers. But more importantly, it represents the heart of our philosophy:
π Sunlight β Love and encouragement create a space where children feel safe, valued, and supported.
π± Soil β A strong foundation nurtures social, emotional, and cognitive development.
π§ Water β Curiosity and creativity are nourished, allowing children to explore in ways that feel meaningful to them.
πΏ Room to Grow β Every child learns at their own pace, and we embrace their path with care and respect.
Just as no two plants grow the same way, no two children learn the same way. At The Garden, we honor each child's unique journey and provide the environment they need to flourish.
